St. Anthony Has A Drumline? In the fall of 2009 St. Anthony reintroduced the St. Anthony Drumline. By the end of their first performance it was clear that this ensemble was something that St. Anthony sports fans had been wanting for a long time. The Pep Drumline performs in the Fall at all St. Anthony home football games, the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade, and in the Spring at select basketball games, rallies, etc. The Indoor Drumline performs in the Spring at weekend competitions and Sunset Serenade.
The drumline is open to all St. Anthony students in good academic standing. No prior drum experience necessary! Students of all skill levels are welcome to come to a rehearsal and see exactly what the St. Anthony drumline is all about. The Beat BibleThe Beat Bible is a publication that contains all the information needed for any member of any portion of the St. Anthony Drumline. The Beat Bible contains information on Techniques, Warm-Ups, Cadences, Tags, and Uniform Guidelines for the St. Anthony Drumline. Click here to download The Beat Bible PDF.

Percussion Arts Society 40 Rudiments - These are the 40 core rudiments to modern drumming. Ate's - A variation on the 8 on a hand concept that is used in "H8ters". This version works on transitional sound quality from the right hand to the left hand. Slow Burn - This is a "stick control" type exercise that works to develop your pulse and stick control in a multitude of sticking configurations. Double Down - This is an advanced "Double Beat" style warm-up/groove that was inspired by the 2004 Santa Clara Vanguard Drumline parking lot favorite. Janky - There is really only one word to describe this etude; DIFFICULT. This was originally written for The Velvet Knights Drum & Bugle Corps in 2007. I wrote it for the corps to play as their 60 second warmup. This piece includes several complex time signatures an hybrid rudiments. HAVE FUN! |
