Why We Fundraise
The instruments we use here at St. Anthony's were donated from other schools after they began needing heavy maintenance and repair. Mr. Lloyd also offers his own personal instruments to the Band which comprise almost half of the instruments used in prior years. The Music Department has doubled in size every year since St. Anthony & Mr. Lloyd breathed new life into it 4 years ago, and this year has more than quintupled. As a result we are greatly in need of new instruments - to keep up with the demand, to replace broken and worn out instruments, and to replace Mr. Lloyd's personal property.
St. Anthony's Drumline is planing to enter our first-ever Indoor Drumline Competition Circuit, ADLA. To do so, we must acquire several intruments we do not already have. Our Sunset Serenade Concert in Spring 2011 raised over $2500 which we have put towards a down payment on all of these much-needed instruments. With the new year and the new budget, the balance owed on the instruments was paid in full and we officially took ownership of:
However, we are still in great need of help and support to raise the funds necessary to continue purchasing other much-need instruments. Below are links to detailed descriptions of what we are looking to purchase:
